Will Voice Activated Software Hyperspace to Speech-Thought Recognition Communication?
Speech recognition is advancing very fast compared to other contemporary technologies of the information age, but where is it going? Where do we want it to go, and what comes next? What about thought recognition software, thought to speech, speech to thought, thought to thought? What about communicating in this way with other species, such as chimpanzees, animals, dolphins – is that really possible?
Right now, no, but in 10, 20, 30 years or more, sure it will be. In fact, I see human to animal and animal to human communication. What about plants? Well, lets not get too far into Sci Fi, but sure even plants to people – using vibrational energy of the plant at the cell level, so the humans know how there plants feel in their garden and such, when they need more sunlight, water, Beethoven?
If you are a science fiction fan, how about cross species communication, that could be good too for traveling off planet, sure why not, we can have fun with this. So then, let’s talk about what I see for the Arthur C. Clarke scenario of thought transfer via social networks?
Will mind-thought transfer technologies be possible in the future? Sure this should be able to be done using stereo ultrasound to follow a thought pattern specific to an individuals mind, then transfer that to ones and zeros to send and then retrieved by another person’s computer-human mind interface to send very definite but weak pulses to specific parts of the brain and channels that that individual uses.
Sounds way out there doesn’t it, sure it does, but by in 25 years it won’t. Would this technology, once fully integrated and used over lets say a 150-year time period cause the lack of use of vocal cords and eliminate most speech from society. This might cause a de-evolution of that human part of the biosystem, the vocal cords, as it would not be needed.
Of course, imagine, peace and quite in a busy location. Think a thought, it sends to the data base of your social network and away goes that thought, which can wait on hold until the receiver wants it or video stream in real-time if appropriate. Sometimes you have to think outside the cave of time, into the future. Can you imagine speech technology in 10, 20, 30, or even 50 years from now?
