How do you use mac speech recognition to get your mac to talk to you?

I’ve read recently about people using mac speech recognition to get their macs to reply to them when they say something to it. I was wondering how this could be set up?

  1. Full Internet Marketing Service

Go to “System Preferences” then click on “Speech” then Turn ON Speakable Items.

  2. Retail Coupons

Open your System Preferences and look under the Speech preference. Under the Speech Recognition tab are all the options.

I would recommend setting up a listening key, as is there by default. The keyword option can be a little harder to get used to. However, if you make the keyword “Computer”, the computer will begin listening to you every time you say “Computer” (almost like you’re talking to it).

The downside is that if you say “Computer” in a conversation near your computer you might trigger something. Enjoy! It’s a lot of fun.
